#Achema Highly flexible temperature input modules for IS1plus system.

The new series 9482 temperature modules provide by far the most versatile solution for remote I/O signal connection in hazardous areas. Featuring eight input channels that can be individually used for a variety of different intrinsically safe sensors, R. STAHL will showcase the innovative modules for the IS1+ system at the ACHEMA trade fair (15 to 19 June 2015, Frankfurt, Germany) in hall 11.1 at stand C 45.

IS1plus_9482_temperature_input_module_01The modules support all types of DIN-, IEC- or GOST-compliant temperature measurement sensors commonly used around the world: resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and resistance transducers based on 2-, 3- or 4-wire technology, grounded or insulated thermocouples and mV sensors. While integrated cold-junction compensation is available, an external 3-wire Pt100 resistor can be used as well. Thanks to very low signal delay, the new “4 channel fast” mode also enables special applications such as joystick control or high-speed temperature measurements. The series comprises hazardous area zone 2 as well as zone 1 types; the latter are equipped with per-channel status LEDs. Like all modules for the user-friendly IS1+ remote I/O system, series 9482 temperature input modules are fully suitable for hot swapping, i.e. they can be added to or removed from an installation at any time while the system remains in operation.

The robust components are designed to withstand extremely harsh ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C. Offered with numerous certifications including IECEx, ATEX, FM, INMETRO, TR and various ship approvals, the modules can be deployed in almost all parts of the world and in a broad range of applications, e.g. in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, oil and gas production, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and other fields.
