Richard “Dick” Morley, the world-renowned technology engineer, inventor, entrepreneur, consultant and author, is scheduled to deliver a keynote presentation at ISA’s 8th Marketing and Sales Summit (11-13 September 2013 in New Orleans, LA, USA).

Morley, generally regarded as the “father” of the programmable logic controller (PLC), and a leading visionary in developing numerous advanced technologies and high technology companies, will deliver a mid-day presentation on Friday, 13 September titled, “What Does Pack Size Have to Do with Marketing?”
ISA’s 8th Marketing and Sales Summit will deliver proven, practical strategies and techniques that will help marketing and sales professionals serving the automation marketplace communicate directly with qualified prospects, strengthen customer relationships, and boost marketing and sales results.
The theme of this year’s summit, “Innovation in Automation: Navigating the Maze of Customer Connections,” pinpoints the tools, strategies, and insights needed to successfully negotiate through today’s fast-changing automation environment, and meet demanding marketing and sales objectives.
A pioneer in the areas of computer design, artificial intelligence, automation, robotics and technology trend forecasting, Morley holds more than 20 US and foreign patents, including those for the PLC, the parallel inference machine, the hand-held terminal and magnetic thin film.
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in physics, Morley has received numerous, highly prestigious awards, including the Franklin Institute’s Howard N. Potts Award (for his contributions in computer and cognitive science). He’s also been honored by Inc. magazine (Entrepreneur of the Year), the SME (The Albert M. Sargent Progress Award), and CNN, and has been inducted in the Automation Hall of Fame and the Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
For many years, Morley served as a contributing columnist to Manufacturing Systems, magazine, and has written numerous articles for magazines and journals worldwide, including Manufacturing Automation magazine.
