#ABBapworld attendance up 20%

Record number of attendees at 2012 event; customers from process, discrete manufacturing and power industries participated

ABB Automation & Power World 2012, held in Houston (TX USA) from April 23-26, exceeded projected event attendance expectations. The conference attracted a record number of participants for any ABB event, totaling more than 5,000 attendees, exceeding prior year attendance figures by 20%.

ABB Automation & Power World is a three-day, comprehensive users conference and exhibition that showcases ABB’s extensive automation and power offerings and expertise under one roof, the widest range of technologies from one company at any one conference. The 2012 event included more than over 500 hours of workshops, customer case histories, partner presentations, and hands-on training sessions, as well as the 130,000 square foot exhibit hall and unique demonstration areas in Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center.

“The continued attendance growth for this event underscores the value that our customers find in the unique learning and networking opportunity offered by ABB Automation and Power World,” said Enrique Santacana. Region Manager for ABB North America and Event Chairman. “It is a privilege for us to be able to share this time with our customers and provide them with a meaningful forum to share their experiences, best practices, and challenges with industry peers and technical experts.”

ABB designed its largest customer event for automation, manufacturing, industrial and utility power users in engineering, operations, mill, plant, general management, and executive management in a wide variety of industries. Organized workshops, as well as information networking with ABB experts, industry experts and end user peers helped attendees share best practices, as well as learn how to reduce costs while improving their productivity and efficiency, be more competitive in the global business environment, and build the foundation for future growth and prosperity.

• The company also announced the dates and venue for ABB Automation & Power World 2013. The event will be held in Orlando, Florida, on March 25-28, 2013.
