Emerson’s AMS Suite Reduces the Complexity of Plant Management Through Easy Asset Performance Management

Asset Optimisation: Emerson Process Management is a leading worldwide supplier of asset optimisation technologies and services that enable the process industries to increase plant availability and performance. Emerson’s Asset Optimization business delivers quantified value to users through improved financial results by unlocking the true potential of their production assets and operations.

AMS Suite uses predictive intelligence, real-time analytics, and reports that enable new levels of insight into overall plant performance for continuous improvement. AMS Suite can drive improved availability and performance of key production assets, including mechanical equipment, electrical systems, process equipment, instruments and valves. It delivers the information needed to make informed decisions by plant management, operations, maintenance and reliability personnel.

How is AMS Suite: Asset Performance Management different from other asset management offerings?
While plant management has gained benefits from predictive technologies, maintenance management systems, and improved work processes, they have lacked the ability to easily and immediately access the ever-increasing volumes of data in ways that would enable fact-based decisions to improve overall plant performance. AMS Suite APM brings easy Asset Performance Management enabling users to analyse predictive information over time, combine asset information with other business information, and optimise asset strategies.

AMS Suite APM expands the value of real-time predictive diagnostics by connecting them with business strategies and metrics. It enables users to drive asset strategies for continuous improvement.

Who will benefit from AMS Suite APM?
Typical users for AMS Suite APM are operations, maintenance and reliability senior management who are tasked with improving plant availability, reducing costs, and supporting other operational Key Performance Indicators. These individuals are typically responsible for thousands of assets and may cover multiple locations. AMS Suite APM provides these users with tools to analyse information, quickly zoom in on problem areas, and to make informed business decisions about their assets.

What is the partnership between Emerson and Meridium? This is a multi-faceted partnership, covering product development and integration, business development, and licensing. Through the partnership, we have jointly developed AMS Suite: Asset Performance Management, based on the Meridium APM Framework.

How do existing Meridium APM users incorporate online diagnostics and events from AMS Suite?
AMS Suite APM provides rich analysis and reporting capabilities, including KPIs, asset prioritisation, user-defined reports, and email notifications. AMS Suite APM has optional modules that provide functionality for Operator Rounds, Metrics and Scorecards, Calibration Management, integration with various CMMS systems, and integration with OPC data sources.

AMS Suite APM can be upgraded to the full Meridium APM Framework, enabling a user to take advantage of Meridium’s additional modules for Strategy Development, Strategy Management, Strategy Execution, and Strategy Evaluation.

How does implementation occur?
Emerson’s Asset Optimization Services team provides services to ensure users are setting a solid foundation for success with AMS Suite APM. Asset Optimization Services include implementing AMS Suite APM, as well as any of the modules including AMS Analytics, Calibration Management, Operator Rounds, and CMMS interface.
